Childhood is not a race to see how quickly a child can read, write and count. It is a small window of time to learn and develop at the pace that is right for each individual child. Earlier is not better.

When I prayed about homeschooling our kids I made sure I was not searching for a specific answer. This was not usually how I approached prayer. My norm was to ask specific questions that I thought would represent both sides of the coin per say and the way the coin landed was the outcome God preferred.

I started blindly. I didn’t even know what questions to ask for help. I began along side other new moms who had experience teaching, but they were not any help for me.
When I was pregnant with Nate, Matt asked me to consider homeschooling our kids. I was shocked & overwhelmed by his request. I was a firm HELL NO. I was not open to put my children’s education into my own hands. I grew up understanding the stereotypes were true & if i adopted this lifestyle, my family would automatically be placed in those boxes. He asked me to pray about it.
