TRANSITION YOUR SUMMER STYLE INTO FALL LOOKS
PULL OUT YOUR LEATHER SHORTS!
Do you own a pair yet?
If they are an out-of-the-box item for you be assured there are SO many styles available in faux-leather shorts so you have options to find the cut that suits your taste.
These are a few years old so below I will link available options for you!
STYLE TIP:
You can wear your leather shorts with a tee for a casual look or reference the featured look for INSP. and pull out your statement blouse for a dressier look.
If shorts are not your jam- wear a skirt:
PAIR YOUR SHORTS WITH A BLAZER!
Saying goodbye to summer is hard for me, but for a lot of people whom I style— they anticipate fall. In Canada, as you know our weather as we enter September is chilly in the morning & evening and hot during mid-day.
I added this outfit to the article as INSP. for you. Styling your shorts with your blazers is a great way to stay warm when you are chilly and still look chic and put together when you take off your blazer because you are warm.
STYLE TIP:
1. Don’t limit yourself with this look. Glean from it and pull pieces out of your closet to create versions of it.
2. We don’t always have to have the exact items to create the looks we are drawn to. Trust yourself! Blazers like this one are everywhere lately and more will be hitting the stores as we enter the fall season.
3. If you only own shorter Blazers where the hem lands just below your waist— don’t donate them! They are still a staple piece for your closet. But, purchase some, where the hem lands at your hip or just below. It is so sexy, relaxed, and polished when the length of your blazer matches the hem of your shorts! Aaaand, looks so amazing with your skinny jeans + heels!!
TRANSITION YOUR DRESSES INTO A FALL FASHION STATEMENT
FUN STORY ABOUT THIS DRESS:
I felt like I scored when I found this dress at WINNERS (Canadian version of ROSS) for $7 and, then to top it off I found almost the exact same version at H&M for my daughter so we could match!
We all love to share our fabulous finds but let's talk about how to transition your summer dresses into your fall wardrobe:
1. Set aside your bright, bold, summery floral dresses until next summer.
BUT, your dresses that are darker floral/prints, by all means, wear them from September-November.
2. Outerwear is necessary for the cooler weather so wear your dresses with your Trench-coats, Jean Jackets: Layer your dress with a Cardigan + a jean jacket (just have the hem of your cardi and jean jacket match).
For a sportier look wear your Bomber Jackets with your dresses.
Moto Jackets are a Dress For YOU Styling Closet Essential! They look amazing with your dresses + sneakers + OTK (Over-the-Knee Boots) or Loafers are really in this 2021 fall also!
3. If you have a bodycon or an a-line dress layer a sweater over top... so it looks like you are wearing a pencil skirt or a sweater and a skirt.
I debated whether to share this because truly this look can look smashing if executed correctly but, can look off if not done correctly (I really should do an article about it because when done right it really expands your wardrobe options!)
